Grand Opening of Atotech's New Semiconductor Facility in Neuruppin, Germany

On Friday, May 7th, 2010, Atotech celebrated the grand opening of its brand new semiconductor facility in Neuruppin, Germany.
To meet high-purity demands of the semiconductor industry, Atotech has enhanced its production capabilities by opening a plant dedicated to the manufacture of special products to fill this need. In doing so, Atotech will be able to both upgrade its existing production facilities and augment the conventional production process.

Located 40 miles northwest of Atotech Headquarters in Berlin, the new production facility for semiconductor grade plating chemistries specializes in high purity and ultra high purity chemicals with class 1000 mini-environments for the filling facilities. The plant itself has a production area of 700m² (7500ft²) with additional areas designated for ultra-pure water generation, analytical equipment, scrubbers, and warehousing. Atotech will utilize the latest engineering design techniques to ensure highest product quality while reducing chemical consumption, waste water and providing global, cost-effective process solutions. Production methods have been optimized to reduce particle formation in the final product and allow for easy purging and cleaning. In addition to delivering these new capabilities, the facility will raise the bar in terms of internal production quality and customer qualification standards within the next six months, thereby presenting customers and end markets with a true singular advantage.

The new facility will set new standards in the chemistry manufacturing process and supply the world market with high-tech solutions in the semiconductor industry both now and in the future. The new plant also provides us with a means of branching out from conventional methods of production to semi-automatic custom-designed production, while, increasing annual production levels overall.

Turning to its code of conduct that has been successfully implemented among its own and partner locations across the globe, Atotech has also been paying special attention to elements such as social awareness, environmental protection, health & safety, and the intricacies of the existing work environment in the Werder, Germany area. As the heart of Atotech’s wet chemical production, the Neuruppin facility will continue to play a key role in the company for years to come. The location is already a center of Atotech manufacture, serving our entire market and customers all over the world.

François, Cornélis, Vice-Président du Comex – Directeur Général Chimie of TOTAL, Bertrand Nusbaumer - Vice-President Strategy Chemicals, Francoise Leroy - Secrétaire Générale, Reinhard Schneider – President of Atotech and the team of Atotech Vice Presidents attended the ceremony.
The event was both a great opportunity for customers and partners to explore our new production facility and to discuss potential collaborations with us.
