Electronic Materials (EM) is a growth area of Atotech. The new Division has been launched in January 2002. Led by Dr. Max Hunziker, it is dedicated to develop and market electronic materials especially imaging resists, dielectric materials and it is active with projects for future printed circuit board (PCB) technology. Our Electronic materials (EM) headquarter in Basel, Switzerland works in close cooperation with our Advanced Technology Center in Guan Yin, Taiwan and Guangzhou, China from where we serve, as supplier, a global customer base with a broad range of products and services.

Electronic Materials' Product Range

Atotech Electronic materials (EM) shares its current supplier's activity in 2 kind of products, Liquid Photoimageable Etch Resists and a wide range of specialty lacquer products.
Liquid Photoimageable Etch Resists, our APR resist series include products for horizontal and vertical (roller) coating operation. Specialty lacquers include all kinds of excellent Soldermasks, Peelable soldermask, Plugging inks, SIT resists and many more useful products required for PWB production.

Electronic Materials' Technology and Development

The Electronic Materials R&D and Global Technical Service in Basle, Switzerland, develops and supports new and advanced materials for printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing. The facility is equipped with state of the art technology and tools for developments in advanced imaging and dielectric materials for HDI and Chip packaging. We serve our customers with process set-up as well as general technical support provided by our Technical Centers in Taiwan and China.

The established close partnership with Lackwerke Peters (LP) provides high quality lacquer materials for our Asian customer base. An excellent collaboration with LPs’ R&D ensures speedy developments of market relevant polymer specialties for PCB manufacturing or assembly challenges. The lacquer products manufactured by Lackwerke Peters are distributed and serviced by Atotech in Asia. This combination of LPs’ formulation competence and Atotech PCB processing know how is a powerful offer for our customers to save time and money and supports excellence in product development speed quality at customer premises.
