Grand Opening of Atotech's New South Asian TechCenter in Bengaluru (Bangalore), India

India is considered one of the fastest growing economies in the world. More and more western companies such as OEMs and
Tier Is are investing in production facilities in India. For this reason Atotech has recently installed a new Indian TechCenter in Bengaluru (Bangalore) which is dedicated to service the Indian metal finishing and electroplating industry. The Bengaluru (Bangalore) TechCenter will be inaugurated on December 15th, 2009.

Atotech India has invited customers and partners to join the opening ceremony which will be led by Mr. Francois Cornélis, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee / President of the Chemical Division of Total, Mr. Reinhard Schneider, President of Atotech, Atotech’s global management team and Shambhu Gupta, Managing Director of Atotech India. The official opening ceremony will start at 12:30 and will be followed by a tour of the facility.

The new TechCenter is located at Plot Number 111 & 112, at the Bommasandra Industrial Area, Phase IV in Bengaluru (Bangalore).
It is equipped with fully automatic plating lines for pretreatment zinc and zinc alloys and Cr(VI)-free post-treatment processes as well as for wear resistant coatings with low to high phosphorous electroless nickel. For applications in the field of printed circuit board industry, the facility is equipped with fully automatic desmear and metallization, pattern and panel plating lines as well as a line dedicated to various final finishes. As the TechCenter also houses state-of-the-art analytical and materials science service labs Atotech India will be able to provide a wide range of services to its local customers from customer sampling, analysis and testing to qualification runs under production scale conditions for customers and OEMs.

With the Benagluru (Bangalore) TechCenter, Atotech now operates 12 TechCenters throughout the world. In 2010 two further TechCenters will be opened in the Czech Republic and in Italy. Next to the services offered such as customer sampling and qualification runs the TechCenters also serve as training grounds for Atotech employees, customers as well as OEMs.

In addition to the ultimate goal of customer proximity the installation of regional TechCenters has been realized over the last years as part of Atotech’s strategy to pioneer the developments to greener technology, enabling Atotech to combine the possibility of testing its latest green product developments with improving its regional customer service capability. Thus Atotech is best situated to offer the fastest and most efficient support to all its customers within the PCB and decorative and functional electroplating industry around the world.
