RFID UHF Antenna Concept

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a common term used to describe the ability of radio waves to electronically read data from small devices known as RFID Tags, Smart Labels or Smart Cards.

RFID antennas manufactured with Atotech's additive process match the performance of etched Cu or Al antennas. This is achieved with a copper thickness of only 2 μm and thus has a much lower environmental impact! The process is approved by major RFID players, meets all test criteria and specifications as well as shows excellent adhesion to various substrates (e.g. PET, PEN, FR4, PI, Glass).

Additionally the additive RFID antenna process offers significant benefits over other additive manufacturing techniques:

  • Cost effective and green technology
  • No complexed waste to treat
  • Lower water consumption
