For decorative applications and industries Atotech provides fashionable satin nickel finishes as a versatile alternative to standard bright nickel chrome layers or other decorative deposits. Our processes from the Satilume Plus® and Velours® Nickel range provide a variety of fine, regular and very attractive surfaces with a silky and matt decorative appearance.
By combining the different satin nickel finishes with Atotech's wide range of final deposits, a tremendous spectrum of colors and designs can be achieved. The deposits are platable on metallic substrates such as brass, steel or zinc die-cast and platable plastics like ABS, ABS/PC blend materials, PA (polyamide) or PP (polypropylene).

The Velours® Nickel Range
Velours® Nickel is a complete system of chemistry and equipment for continuous satin nickel plating. The environmentally responsible system operates with low nickel content and reduces make-up, replenishment and wastewater treatment costs. With plating thicknesses from 8 - 60 μm and finishes from soft bright to deep matt it can meet most requirements.
