HEEF® | HEEF® 25 | HEEF® 25 is a proprietary high-speed chromium plating process that deposits functional (hard) chromium up to four times faster than conventional chromium processes and up to three times faster than other high-speed baths. This speed comes from an increase in current efficiency from the bath chemistry and a significantly higher limiting current density before burning occurs. Unlike other high-speed chromium plating processes, such as those based on mixed catalyst systems, the HEEF® 25 process does not cause cathodic low current density etching of parts. Deposits from the HEEF® 25 process have microhardness values in the 1,000-1,150 KHN0.1 range and are microcracked at greater than 1,000 cracks per inch. The deposit is bright, shiny and smooth. The process is used for various applications such as shock absorbers, strut rods, engine valves, piston rings, brake pistons, cylinder liners and hydraulic rods. | 756617 |
HEEF® PR | HEEF® PR was developed especially for the plating of cast iron piston rings but now has found large use in diesel auto, truck and locomotive cylinders as well. The deposit, productivity and running cost are comparable to HEEF® 25 but this chemistry also has the attribute of a very low chemical etch rate on exposed cast iron. This means that while plating the outside of the piston ring the inside no longer needs to be protected from chemical attack. The same is true for cast iron cylinder liners where typically the inside is plated and the exposed outside now no linger needs protection. | 756617
HEEF® FC | HEEF® FC (Fast Chrome) is the newest member of the HEEF® family. The chemistry is able to plate at much higher current densities then before. Commercially it is used at over 200 ASD (13 ASI) in applications where the part geometry and current carrying capacity of the article to be plated are appropriate. The chemistry has the same deposit characteristics as HEEF® 25 and HEEF® PR. It is primarily used by platers that require more plating productivity from a given tank and thus eliminating the need for installing additional tanks or increasing the number of worker's shifts. | 756617
HEEF® PC | HEEF® PC (Piston Crown) has superior efficiency compared to conventional processes meaning that productivity can be increased in the range of 30% enabling higher productivity from the same plating set-up. The ability to plate to extremely high thicknesses of over 500µm as well as the high micro-crack number and high hardness make it the ideal deposit for such applications as the piston crowns required for ship engines | 756617
HEEF® KR | HEEF® KR (Korrosion Resistance) is the newest member of the HEEF® family. Developed to give better corrosion resistance performance compared to even HEEF® 25. Having the same superior deposit characteristics as HEEF® 25 and the same ease of use and plating efficiency means the best chrome plating process just got better.. | 756617 |
