TriChrome® – Environmentally Responsible Decorative Chrome Plating

Reducing the Environmental Impact

We have invested in environmentally responsible surface finishing technologies and can provide a viable alternative solution to hexavalent chromium plating for decorative applications. The TriChrome® processes, purely based on Cr(III), allow high plating speed without self limiting thickness, and meet performace requiremens of the automotive, consumer elcetronics and hardware industry.

TriChrome® is primarily suitable for conventional metal-based applications, plating on plastics and Ni-free intermediate layers, such as white bronze. Deposits plated from TriChrome® electrolytes have unique alloy properties which make color adjustments possible and help to resist even severe chloride attack, eg from CaCl2 road salts.

TriSeal® Post-treatments – Enhanced Corrosion Resistance

For more severe performance requirements Atotech developed the TriSeal® products – a range of products that enhance the corrosion protection of TriChrome® deposits.

TriChrome® Ion Exchanger – Improved Performance

The ion exchange system is designed for the removal of interfering metallic impurities such as copper, nickel, zinc, lead and iron from Atotech's TriChrome® electrolyte range.
