While the situation is quite serious and unprecedented, so too has been the overwhelming response from so many across the globe, including the Atotech team. We, like so many other organizations, are rapidly making adjustments to the way we work and the way we serve our customers to ensure we are doing everything in our power to stop the spread of Coronavirus, and minimize its impact on all our stakeholders.
To begin with, we have proactively implemented multiple measures to protect the health and safety of our team, while also aggressively following best practices and guidance from local governmental agencies and authorities. We are widely utilizing a remote-work staffing model, extending flexibility regarding working hours for those who cannot work remotely to minimize personal interaction, and have reduced travel. The results thus far are encouraging, and we will remain vigilant in our efforts to protect our employees, their families and the communities in which they live and serve.
From a business perspective, we remain absolutely committed to providing our customers with the complete range of our products and services, and have made, and will continue to make business adjustments in order to more effectively serve them in these challenging times, such as the availability of our team of experts through a variety of digital platforms. Our production continues around the world, and we remain operational in the majority of our global network of manufacturing plants in China, Southeast Asia, Europe and the Americas to meet customer demand. We also have some flexibility to shift production between facilities where necessary.
With regard to our supply chain, we have not experienced significant disruptions thus far. However, we are continuously updating our business continuity plans which include an assessment of possible risks in our supply chain. Accordingly, we have developed alternative supply-chain routes, back-up options, and optimized production plans. We are also in close communication with both primary suppliers and their secondary supply chains to ensure materials will remain available. We are also in touch with our logistics suppliers who have contingency plans.
Overall, we remain confident in our ability to meet our customers’ needs. At this point, our team of professionals reviews and updates our production and shipment schedules on a daily basis to mitigate any risks related to our supply chain.
