Berlin, September 4, 2026 – MKS Inc. (NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of enabling technologies that transform our world, will highlight advanced surface-finishing solutions for battery manufacturing at Battery Korea 2026, taking place in Seoul on September 21.
At the event, MKS’ Atotech will showcase technologies designed to address critical challenges across battery manufacturing, including:
- Surface-finishing solutions for EV battery components
- High-efficiency electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding technologies
- Protective coatings for aluminum busbars that enhance corrosion resistance and long-term performance
As part of the conference program, Konstantin Thom, Business Development Manager at MKS’ Atotech, will present two sessions exploring how surface-treatment technologies can help address key performance, reliability, and design challenges in next-generation battery systems.
Keynote Presentation – Emerging EV and battery trends: How surface treatment can support
The rapid transition toward electrified mobility, renewable energy integration, and advanced electronics is driving strong demand for high-performance batteries, energy storage systems, and high-performance electronic components. This keynote will examine key market and technology trends shaping the future of EVs and energy storage, while highlighting the critical role of surface-treatment technologies in enabling performance, reliability, safety, and sustainability across the battery value chain.
Track Session – Enabling the switch from Metal to Plastic for lightweight EMI shielding applications
As electric vehicles adopt increasingly complex power electronics, battery systems, and connectivity functions, effective electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding becomes a critical design requirement. This presentation explores an alternative approach based on metallized engineering plastics, enabling the replacement of metal housings while maintaining EMI shielding performance and supporting more flexible component design.
Visitors to Booth P02 will have the opportunity to discuss their battery manufacturing challenges with MKS’ Atotech specialists and discover solutions that support improved performance, corrosion protection, conductivity, and reliability across battery systems.
