On June 18, 2024, NIO held its second Advanced Surface Treatment Tech Show at its headquarters in Hefei, Anhui Province, China, under the theme “Innovate Together, Build the Future Together.” MKS’ Atotech representatives attended the event, presented their technical solutions to the participants.
Surface treatment technology is critical to the production of high-quality automotive products and NIO has always been committed to exploring advanced sustainable and intelligent surface treatment technologies. Therefore, the main objective of this Tech Show was to strengthen collaboration with supply chain partners and to discuss the latest applications and developments in advanced surface treatment technologies, products, and processes.
As a leading supplier of surface finishing solutions, MKS’ Atotech offers comprehensive solutions for the automotive industry. At the NIO Tech Show, our CRC & PST Sales Manager, Mr. Gang Wang, presented advanced surface treatment solutions for lightweight structural parts and fasteners used in new energy vehicles. He introduced our latest solutions for fasteners in battery housings and corrosion protection solutions for those in electronic control systems. He also covered related products such as pretreatment for aluminum battery housings and vehicle bodies and demonstrating practical application examples. This presentation was very well received, attracting over 200 attendees both on-site and online.
MKS’ Atotech also displayed a variety of samples at the event, including brake pistons, scroll compressors for automotive air conditioning, self-locking screws, FDS flow-drilling screws, SPR pull rivet nuts, and other innovative fasteners designed for direct assembly and riveting in new energy vehicles (NEVs). In addition, we displayed samples showing the results after the treatment with advanced processes such as the Covertron® 600, a chromium-free etching process for plastic metallization, and the TriChrome® series for trivalent decorative chrome plating. These exhibits generated considerable interest and many inquiries from attendees.
During the Tech Show, NIO invited guests to visit the NIO Marketing Center and the second vehicle assembly plant to showcase its latest fully automated assembly facilities to partners in the surface treatment supply chain. NIO highlighted its commitment to achieving both elegant appearance and high performance in its products through advanced surface treatment. The company expressed its eagerness to collaborate with top partners in the surface treatment industry to jointly promote the application of advanced surface treatment technologies, aiming to create a new ecosystem for the development of new energy vehicles.
