Zintek® Top XT

Atotech’s Zintek® Top product series is our response to the increasing demand for thinner top coats with highly protective properties. Our Zintek® Top XT offers an extremely thin layer application (~1 μm) with best-in-class results in NSST as well as cyclic corrosion resistance (CCT).

Zintek® Top XT is an water-based clear inorganic top coat with integrated lubricant that can be used on top of zinc flake base coats or electroplated layers. It provides superior results in combination with suitable passivated plated layers of alkaline and acid zinc.Our Zintek® top coats find widespread use within automotive applications due to their high grade of corrosion protection. This coating technology can be applied with a dip-spin or spray technique.

Zintek® Top XT is typically used on as fasteners, like bolts, screws, nuts, springs, clamps, stampings, and it is applied typically by dip-spin application. Larger parts can be coated by rack-spin or spray method. Zintek® Top XT also delivers outstanding results in cyclic corrosion tests for white rust resistance and base metal corrosion resistance. Applied directly to either Atotech’s zinc flake base coats or electroplated zinc or zinc alloy layers, Atotech’s inorganic Zintek® Top finishes make up a line of unique multipurpose coatings with many added benefits and the highest level of corrosion protection.

Atotech’s zinc flake coatings are completely free of Cr(VI), nickel, lead, cadmium, mercury and cobalt while fulfilling the performance requirements of numerous global OEMs. Zinc flake coatings are not only appreciated by the automotive industry but also by the renewable energy sector, the construction and agriculture industries as well as others.
