EcoTri® NoCo 2.0

High-performance cobalt and fluoride-free passivate

EcoTri® NoCo 2.0 is a Cr(III)-based iridescent passivate for zinc surfaces. The newest generation, which is completely cobalt- and fluoride-free, offers an innovative feature that is unique to cobalt-free passivates: the ability to withstand hydrogen de-embrittlement baking even after passivation.

After baking at 210 °C for 6 – 8 hours, EcoTri® NoCo 2.0 exhibits no significant changes in appearance or evidence of corrosion.

The iridescent passivate can be applied over alkaline and acid zinc deposits and is suitable for fasteners and automotive applications. With protection against white corrosion lasting up to 144 hours in barrel applications and up to 168 hours in rack applications (NSST after baking), EcoTri® NoCo 2.0 offers the same high performance as cobalt-containing passivates.

Your challenge

The interest in sustainable coatings is growing due to regulations as well as increased environmental, health and safety awareness. Passivates increase the corrosion resistance of surfaces, however often contain substances such as cobalt and fluoride to stabilize the process. Especially cobalt-free products can show discoloration and drop of corrosion performance after backing.

Our solution

With EcoTri® NoCo 2.0 we provide an outstanding cobalt-free solution offering the same high performance as cobalt-containing passivates. Unique to cobalt-free passivates it can withstand hydrogen de-embrittlement baking even after passivation. After baking at 210 °C for 6 – 8 hours, EcoTri® NoCo 2.0 exhibits no significant changes in appearance or shows evidence of corrosion.
